PART 2 – LIVING HERITAGE INVENTORIES

In 2025, the UK Government launched Living Heritage in the UK as part of the UK’s commitment to the 2003 UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage, defined as ‘cultural heritage that is living and practised’. The performance, enjoyment and understanding of early music in the community (the aim of all the early music forums) falls within this definition, and we are therefore planning to submit an Expression of Interest to add the Early Music Forums to the Inventories. This will be done by NEMA on behalf of all nine forums.

For the full submission, we need to show that the community (ie our members) consent to this practice being included in the Inventories. Please therefore vote on the following question, selecting one option:
