Minutes of North West Early Music Forum Annual General Meeting (‘Virtual’)
Saturday 17 April 2021, beginning at 11.40 a.m.
1 Apologies for absence: Beryl Kilpatrick, Rona Courtney
2 Minutes of the AGM held 28 November 2020 were accepted as correct.
3 There were no matters arising from those Minutes.
4. Chairman’s Report had been circulated beforehand; there were no comments.
5. Treasurer’s Report had been circulated beforehand; there were no comments.
6. Workshops so far planned for 2021-2022: Deborah Catterall on 8th May (Zoom presentation) and provisionally three in person in September-November 2021. Venues and COVID-safe arrangements to be confirmed; NWEMF would probably need to provide risk assessments and to know what is expected of us should Covid-secure arrangements still be required (“parallel” examples might provide guidance). Mark B offered to contact the desired Chester venue for Andrew Griffiths’ workshop provisionally on 9th October. [Post meeting notes: several example RAs have been looked at; Mark B has booked Holy Ascension, Upton-by-Chester.]
7. Election of Officers: Chairman Dave Love, Secretary John Huthnance, Treasurer Martin Steward nem. con. there being no other nominations.
8. Election of Committee Members: Elizabeth Dodd, Bob Foster, Tim Gannicliffe, Elizabeth Silman, Peter Syrus Jenny Walsh nem. con. there being no other nominations. David Allen agreed to continue as Web master pending another with more Web skills.
9. Other Business In case of IT problems (as experienced on 17th April) Zoom sessions need a pre-arranged back-up host with access to all necessary contact information and ability to open the session. There was a plea to all members to propose and convene workshops. Facebook presence; David R offered to liaise with David A to maintain this. To attract new NWEMF members and participants we should all contact (e.g. email) members of our choirs and instrumental groups.
