NWEMF has a collection of intruments available for those wanting to try an instrument before deciding to purchase their own. The instruments can also be loaned to students as long as they have a suitable supervising teacher.
There are several viols, baroque in type; three trebles a tenor and a bass.

Various double reed wind Soprano and alto Crumhon, Alto cornamuse and a tenot kortholt
Recorders including a consort of renaissance instruments made by Carl Hansen and several renaissance type instruments. Some practice plastic instruments are also in the collection.
Borrowers should be a member of the North West Early Music Forum. For adults there is hire charge and the borrower is expected to take full responsibility for an instrument whilst it is with them including insurance.
